The new GAME ON! Science, Sports & Play exhibit at the California Science Center invites visitors to engage with science through the lens of sports via interactive exhibits. Participants step into a virtual Dodger Stadium and receive video instructions from World Series MVP Freddie Freeman, while HitTrax ball tracking and video capture technology empowers guests to learn about swing mechanics and understand how a batter generates force upon the ball.
The exhibit allows guests to measure key baseball metrics such as exit velocity, launch angle, and play outcomes. This immersive experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of science and sports in a dynamic and interactive environment.

Bringing Baseball Data to Life
Designed with the generous support of the Walter Family Foundation, the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, and the LA84 Foundation, the exhibit is a celebration of sports, motion, and the science that powers them. With a special focus on community access and youth engagement, GAME ON! aims to inspire curiosity and discovery through physical activity and hands-on learning.
Through the integration of HitTrax technology, guests of all ages can experience how the science behind the human body in motion comes together on the field.
“HitTrax is thrilled to be a part of California Science Center’s new exhibit, GAME ON! by powering the experience in the interactive baseball batting cages. Providing batted ball metrics, alongside virtual instruction from World Series MVP Freddie Freeman, is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the intersection of sports and science in an engaging, hands-on way. HitTrax is passionate about using data and technology to elevate the game, and this collaboration allows us to spark curiosity and connect with a broader audience—from young aspiring athletes to lifelong fans.” – Tom Stepsis | COO & Co-Founder, HitTrax
